Abstract:

Generating a production schedule that will provide optimal operating strategies without all technical and operational constraints is not practical. Creating such models with considering NPV as objective function result to oversize mathematical problems which needs more CPU time. This paper developed a multi-INDEX clustering algorithm to reduce the size of the large-scale mathematical problems by reducing the number of decisions variables. By the way the presented algorithm remove dependency to weight importance coefficients and marks the planning with minimum error and significant reduction in the size of the model and solving time. In application and comparison of the presented clustering technique, 2478 extraction block aggregated in first step in 10 clusters, and in second step in 40 and finally in 109 clusters. By using CPLEX and MATLAB the MILP models of clusters and extraction block created to evaluate the clustering technique. The results show that CPU time has 86% reduction whereas the NPV only show 1. 8% difference between clusters and block models.

Abstract:

The image content detectability and image structure preservation are closely related concepts with undeniable role in image quality assessment. However, the most attention of image quality studies has been paid to image structure evaluation, few of them focused on image content detectability. Examining the image structure was firstly introduced and assessed in Structural SIMILARITY (SSIM) measure, in which, the definition of image structure is constrained to the intensity covariance between the reference and test images. Indeed, this measure discerns the luminance changes in the pixels of the reference and test images, by employing the low-level statistical features. But this minimal definition of image structure does not cover the issue of image content detectability. In this study, we found that the status of image region smoothness can reflect its structural content. So, we proposed a novel smoothness measure based on the maximally stable extremal regions (MSER) descriptor. Subsequently, we proposed a novel image structural SIMILARITY measure, in which the fidelity of image region smoothness is also taken into account. Experimental results on five popular benchmark image databases, including A57, LIVE, CSIQ, TID2008 and TID2013, are provided, which confirm that the proposed approach has a reasonable prediction performance compared to the state-of-the-art image quality metrics.

Abstract:

Traditional trade theories argued that absolute or relative or comparative advantages are basis of trade. Each country will specialize in producing goods in which she has absolute or comparative advantage. H.O. Theory argued that factor abundance determines the commodities that each country produces, exports or imports.Linder theory states that SIMILARITY of demand determines the pattern of commodity export and import of a country. In his opinion the best INDEX for SIMILARITY of demand is per capita income. So if the gap between two countries per capita income increases, trade between these two decreases and vice versa. Our aim in this paper is to investigate this hypothesis for Iranian economy. To do so we have used three methods. Two simple methods and another one which is more advanced. First we divided the intended time period for which we test Linder hypothesis into two sub-periods. The first one covers years 1974-1987 and the second covers years 1979-2002. In our first method we show that in the first sub-period most of 10 top trade partners of Iran were. Industrial and advanced countries of Western Europe and USA in second sub-period these were replaced by Asian countries. In second method we show that compared to the first sub-period in the second one share of Asian countries in trade with Iran has increased and share of advanced countries with Iran has decreased. In third motheod, panel data Regression fixed effect method, we found that the coefficient of independent variables in both regression equations (Iran and Europeans... Iran and Asians) are negative. This shows that increase in income gap with Europeans has decreased Iran's trade with them and decreased in income gap with Asian has reduced Iranian trade with them. So we can not reject Linder hypothesis for Iranian economy.

Abstract:

Recognition and prediction of biological function of proteins based on amino acid sequences is a simple method employed in so many software and operators. However, the sequence SIMILARITY does not always imply to SIMILARITY of biological function. The aim of this study was to determine the semantic SIMILARITY of gene ontology (GO) of six pluripotency factors, Oct4, Sox2, C-Myc, Klf-4, Lin28 and Nanog in six species and evaluate their conformity with their protein sequence SIMILARITY and phylogenetic distance. C-myc factor exhibited a significant correlation between phylogenetic distance and protein SIMILARITY. The other factors like Sox2, Klf-4 and Lin-28 showed the correct changes of phylogenetic distance and protein SIMILARITY, but Nanog and Oct4 factors did not display a correct correlation between two indices because, the increase of protein SIMILARITY was not followed with the decrease of phylogenetic distance. Following the study, the protein or nucleotide SIMILARITY was assumed as dependent variable and GO SIMILARITY in three categories of biological process (BP), molecular function (MF) and, cell component (CC) were expected as the independent variables. With this assumption, regression analysis was accomplished to determine the best model for protein and nucleotide SIMILARITY estimation. The protein or nucleotide SIMILARITY also displayed a significant regression with GO SIMILARITY for C-myc factor and category of BP and CC were selected to estimate protein or nucleotide SIMILARITY by model, but a significant regression was not observed for other pluripotency factors for estimation of protein or nucleotide SIMILARITY. It means that except of C-myc, GO SIMILARITY of other studied pluripotency factors didn’ t reflect the protein or nucleotide SIMILARITY. It is suggested that related data for five pluripotency factors, including Oct-4, Sox2, Klf4, Lin28 and Nanog in the six studied species should be reviewed.

Abstract:

Background and objectives: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is the most common mononeuropathy encountered in clinical practice. Conventional electro diagnosis studies have been useful in the diagnosis of this condition. The Terminal Latency INDEX (TLI) is a derived neurophysiological value that adjusts the Distal motor Latency (DL) for the terminal distance and motor nerve Conduction Velocity (CV).Several studies have suggested utility of the median TLI for diagnosis of CTS.The goal of this study is to evaluate prospectively the sensitivity of the median TLI in the diagnosis of CTS and compare it with other electrodiagnosis techniques.Material and Methods: This study was done on 111 patients as CTS group & 62 healthy subject as control group. In all groups five selected tests of electrodiagnosis were done and all of them were compared with TLI sensitivity. Results: The mean TLI was 0.3±0.05 in the CTS group and 0.42±0.03 in the control group. The sensitivity of TLI was 73% The TLI wasn't statistically better than the other tests, but in three cases from the CTS group, the TLI was the only abnormal test. The 7 and 14 cm method had meaningful sensitivity in contrary to other tests. Conclusion: The sensitivity of TLI has no meaningful difference with other routine electro diagnostic tests in diagnosis of CTS.The median TLI is a useful but not more sensitive electrodiagnostic test for CTS.

Abstract:

Introduction: Three methods of OCRA INDEX, Strain INDEX (SI), and ACGIH HAL have been proposed for the assessment of risk factors of upper limb musculoskeletal disorders. Investigating the correlation and consistency of these three methods are of prominence importance in the workplaces. Thus, this study aimed to determine the correlations of the results of the above mentioned methods. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a total of 150 tasks were studied in four industries. For each task, a video taping of a full working cycle was prepared and evaluated according to the instructions of each method. The level of risk exposure to musculoskeletal disorders was analyzed with correlation and Kappa agreement coefficient tests using SPSS (version 16) and R software packages. Results: The correlation between the results of risk assessments of OCRA and SI methods for right and left hands were acceptable and equal to 0.751 and 0.726, respectively (p<0.001). Meanwhile, the coefficients of agreement between OCRA and HAL methods for left and right hands were 0.526 and 0.595, respectively. Conclusion: These findings partly confirmed the agreement between the methods of risk assessment. The origin of this partial agreement can be the number and type of variables and their impacts on the final score of the methods.
